Block 9

October 11, 2018
A large dropstone, bottom left, has been uncovered at the Block 9 building site in downtown Fargo. According to Donald Schwert, a local geologist, this is the largest dropstone to have ever been uncovered from Lake Agassiz sediments. Its scale gives credence to the size of icebergs that were once floating in the lake and probably dropped off an iceberg about 13,000 years ago.David Samson / Forum News Service
