FEDERAL DUCK STAMP WINNER: An acrylic painting of mallards in flight by artist Bob Hautman of Delano, Minn., is the winner of the 2017 Federal Duck Stamp Art Contest. The stamp will be made into the 2018-2019 Federal Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp, best known as the Duck Stamp. The win was Hautman's third in the Federal Duck Stamp Contest.

A painting of white-winged scoters by Shakopee, Minn., artist Mark Thone will be featured on the 2018 Minnesota Migratory Waterfowl Stamp, after he won the annual state stamp contest sponsored by the Department of Natural Resources. This was Thone’s first time winning the duck stamp contest. The waterfowl stamp validation, required to hunt ducks and geese in Minnesota, costs $7.50 and buyers can receive the pictorial stamp for another 75 cents. Info: mndnr.gov/stamps.
