Dave Larson of Osakis, Minn., was hunting coyotes with hounds in January 2013 when the dogs picked up the scent of this mountain lion and soon treed the cat. Larson used the camera on his smart phone to take several photographs and a video clip of the cat. He said the mountain lion likely is the same cat that first was captured on a trail camera in the area in November 2012. Minnesota doesn't have a known population of mountain lions, according to the Department of Natural Resources. (Submitted photo)
