The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources on Nov. 10 retrieved the three acoustic receivers it set this past summer in the Red River to monitor the movements of fish fitted with hydroacoustic tags. The tags emit a signal the receivers log, providing info on the fishes' whereabouts when downloaded. (Minnesota DNR photo)

Betty was the second of a record eight blizzards to hit the Red River Valley in a season.
