Hank Steinberger of Jamestown, N.D., took this photo during a recent trip to Lake Winnipeg of tubs of walleyes that had been pullled from a commercial fishing net on the big lake. As walleye stocks decline, commercial netters have begun targeting big walleyes from a banner 2001 year-class in an effort to meet their harder-to-fill quotas. (Photo/ Hank Steinberger)

Sidelined for much of the winter after rotator cuff surgery, Brad Dokken made his triumphant return to the ice last weekend on Devils Lake and used the one-armed technique to land this northern pike while tip-up fishing. A fishing patner helped him slide the pike out of the hole, and the fish was released after a quick photo. (Photo/ Brad Durick)

Adalyn Linnell, 5, of Warren, Minn., caught this 18-inch walleye -- her first fish through the ice -- on Saturday, Feb. 18 while fishing with her grandpa, Jon Linnell of Warren. "She was a real trooper, getting live bait out of the minnow bucket and all," Linnell writes. "I have had her out soft water fishing, so now she is a veteran at both." Adalyn is the daughter of Jeremy and Tricia Linnell of Warren. Click on the image to see the full photo.
