UND will be starting Peter Thome in net again Friday as the Fighting Hawks open a two-game series against Miami University in Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Starting goalie Cam Johnson has been ruled out for the weekend, meaning Thome will be the starter and Ryan “Bob” Anderson of Roseau will be the backup.

Thome made his first two career starts at Wisconsin last weekend, earning a win and a tie. He allowed two goals each night and compiled a .935 save percentage, good enough to earn NCHC goalie of the week honors.

There’s no current timeline set for Johnson’s return and his recovery will be closely monitored.

“He’s going in the right direction,” UND coach Brad Berry said. “That’s something where we want to make sure, in his position, that he’s fully healthy.”

UND also will be without senior forward Trevor Olson, who hasn’t played since sustaining an upper-body injury at Colorado College a couple of weeks ago.
