Drew Stafford has signed a one-year deal worth $800,000 with the New Jersey Devils.

This will reunited Stafford with his old buddy and UND linemate Travis Zajac, who paired with Stafford to serve as a dynamic duo during two seasons in Grand Forks.

They were linemates for much of the 2004-05 season — Stafford’s sophomore season and Zajac’s freshman year. They finished second and third on the team in scoring that season, only behind senior Colby Genoway.

Stafford and Zajac combined for four goals and six points in the NCAA regional, beating Boston University and Boston College in Worcester (that’s also the last time BC has lost in Worcester). They had two goals and four points in the semifinal win over Minnesota, too.
