WARROAD, Minn. -- Two NHL stars who grew up in northwest Minnesota are coming this summer to play in a celebrity hockey tournament.

Washington Capitals’ T. J. Oshie and Brock Nelson of the New York Islanders have committed to participating in the HockeyTown USA Celebrity Golf Tournament, according to a report in the Warroad Pioneer. The two Warroad natives who played hockey for UND will play in the 18-hole charity event that raises funds for local hockey programs and facilities.

Set up as a four-person scramble with one celebrity on each team, the tournament has invited other NHL players. Oshie and Nelson are among the first to commit.

The event also will include a celebrity autograph session, activities, games and an awards banquet, according to the Pioneer.

The tournament is July 22. For more information, visit the HockeyTown USA Facebook page or email whockeytownusa@gmail.com.
