UND-Northern Colorado takeaways

What did we learn from UND’s homecoming 48-38 win over Northern Colorado on Saturday?

The Fighting Hawks looked like they were flipping a switch between 2016 UND and 2017 UND. The game must have been an emotional roller coaster for fans.

At first glance, it looks like UND was bad defensively again. And the Hawks had their issues on D, for sure, but I don’t think it was as bad as you might think.

UND only gave up 331 yards of total offense to the Bears. One UNC score can be chalked up to a sack, strip and score by the Bears defense and another can at least partly be pinned on UND’s special teams off Torrey Hunt‘s kick return fumble. If we’re talking about UND’s defense giving up 331 yards of total offense and 24 points, it’s little easier to handle.
