Wanted: Story ideas for deer season

I'm on the hunt for good deer hunting stories, and I'm looking for ideas.

Deer season is rich in tradition on both sides of the Red River, a time friends and family gather to spend time outdoors, swap stories from days gone by and make some new memories.

That's where you come into play.

Maybe it's a hunting camp that has a time-honored tradition. Or maybe it's a story about a hunter—young or old, male or female—for whom deer season has a special significance.

Or, perhaps, it's a story about hunters helping other hunters celebrate the hunt.

Whatever the story might be, I'd like to hear about it.

If you have a story or idea you could share, drop me a line at, give me a call at (800) 477-6572 ext. 1148 or (701) 780-1148 (leave a message if I'm not at my desk) or send me a note by postal mail to Brad Dokken, c/o The Grand Forks Herald, 375 Second Ave. N., Box 6008, Grand Forks ND 58203.

Let's hear some stories.
