UND adds Monmouth transfer: UND coach Travis Brewster announced Wednesday the addition of Monmouth (N.J.) University transfer Alaina Jarnot.
Jarnot, of Brooklyn Park, Minn., will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2018-19 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
"Alaina is a very talented player from successful Maranatha High School and the Minnesota Stars AAU program," Brewster said. "She's extremely competitive, has a strong basketball IQ and is a hard-worker that moves the ball. She's a very fast player with and without the basketball and very tenacious on defense."
Jarnot played in 31 games this past season at Monmouth, making 15 starts. She averaged just more than 3.0 points per game and grabbed 2.5 rebounds as a sophomore.
As a freshman, the 5-foot-7 point guard led the team with 95 assists, which ranked fifth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. She averaged 6.1 points and 2.1 rebounds that season, starting 28 games.
As a prep, Jarnot scored more than 2,000 points and established a new Minnesota high school record with 1,156 assists. A 2016 Minnesota Miss Basketball candidate, she picked up all-state honors as a senior after averaging more than 21 points and nearly 11 assists per game.
