Senior High sweeps: East Grand Forks Senior High won both the boys' and girls' divisions Thursday at the Roseau Invitational.
The Green Wave had the top four finishers in the boys division in finishing with 23 points. Cole Nowacki (16:13.5) won, followed by teammates Tyson Mahar (16:21.2), Sakariye Ismail (17:14.9) and Jonathan Krueger (17:23.9).
In the girls division, Katherine Geist of Crookston (18:45.2) was the individual winner, followed by East Grand Forks runners Lydia Floden (20:14.4) and McKenna Langerud (20:23.1). The Wave finished with 25 points.
"We ran well today,'' Senior High coach Kirk Misialek said. "Cole and Tyson took charge early and both ran super times. Lydia and McKenna took the same approach and finished strong. Nobody was catching Katherine Geist, who continues to post amazing 5K times.''
GF matchup postponed: Thursday's intracity game between Grand Forks Central and Red River was postponed due to inclement weather. No makeup date has been set.
GF Central blanks North: Grand Forks Central beat Fargo North 5-0 on Thursday in a dual that was called after five matches due to inclement weather.
Central swept four of the five matches. The most dominant wins came from Kyle Stauss at No. 5 singles and Chase Spicer at No. 6, each winning by 6-0, 6-1 margins.
Central improved to 3-0.
Red River 7, Fargo Davies 2: Grand Forks Red River remained unbeaten at 3-0 with a road win at Davies on Thursday.
Devils Lake 3, Red River 2: Devils Lake held off a Grand Forks Red River rally Thursday night, winning 25-21, 25-20, 24-26, 15-25, 15-10.
Kyleigh Toso led Devils Lake with 11 kills while Chiara Olson added 10. Red River was led by Jada Steen and Alex Page. Each finished with 11 kills
West Fargo 3, GF Central 0: West Fargo swept Grand Forks Central 25-10, 25-15, 25-21 on Thursday night.
Katie Noreen and Jaylin Perrault each had five kills for the Knights.
Sacred Heart 3, Crookston 0: Maddie Mitzel and Jessica Remer each had nine kills as the Eagles swept Crookston
KCC 3, Senior High 0: Marlee Turn's 13 kills led Kittson County Central to a 25-17, 25-19, 25-7 win over East Grand Forks Senior High on Thursday night.
