CEDAR CITY, Utah—After picking up its first road win of the season a week ago at Portland State, UND was looking for some momentum in its Big Sky Conference football game at Southern Utah on Saturday night.

The Fighting Hawks didn't find that momentum, instead falling 47-21 to SUU. The loss dropped UND to 2-5 in the league and 3-7 overall.

SUU, still in the hunt for a league title, improved to 5-1 and 7-2.

SUU struck early, scoring on its first two possessions for a 13-0 lead.

UND responded with a 64-yard touchdown run by John Santiago but the Hawks couldn't keep the Thunderbirds' offense off the field. SUU led 27-13 at the half.

UND will close out its season next Saturday at the Alerus Center against Eastern Washington.
