Calvin Hanson, 11, shot his first solo pheasant Nov. 29 while hunting with the family's new Labrador, Acorn Acres Cooper, at Two River Game Preserve near Lancaster, Minn. Calvin is a fifth-grader at Kittson Central school in Hallock, Minn.
