Cher bringing nationwide tour to Upper Midwest next year

ST. PAUL -- Cher will be on a nationwide tour with two stops in the Upper Midwest in May of 2019, it was announced Friday, Sept. 7.

The 72-year-old singer and actress will be on her first tour across the country in five years. Her tour will start in Florida next January and end with appearances in Sioux Falls at the Denny Sanford Premier Center on Thursday, May 16, and at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on Saturday, May 18.

Cher recently played a role in the film “Mamma Mia 2 - Here We Go Again.” She is also releasing a new album on Sept. 28 of this year called the Dancing Queen, a tribute to the music of ABBA. The album is currently available for pre-order.

Tickets for the Sioux Falls show will go on sale starting Friday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m. at LiveNation.com, at the Sanford events center box office, www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000.

Cher is expected to perform many of her hits along with some new songs from the Dancing Queen album.

The music industry icon is scheduled to be honored at the Kennedy Center later this year.  She is also co-producer of The Cher Show, the upcoming Broadway musical opening Dec. 3 and is currently touring Australia and New Zealand. 

She is also doing a series of residencies in Las Vegas.
