Letters: Spend money on personnel, not walls

To the editor,

I have lived my entire 78 years in North Dakota, USA. My daughters and I recently returned from a wonderful trip to the UK. We had no trouble going from country to country until time to come home.

We spent the entire two hours we had between planes in the Toronto airport standing in line after line. It was not a problem leaving Canada, but the problem was with the many layers of security to get back into the USA and especially the lack of personnel.

The last checkpoint we went through had eight computer stations and only three people working them, and one of them took a coffee break. We were still standing there when he returned.

If the president wants to improve security I think he should spend our money on more personnel for the security measures already in place instead of on walls and other such nonsense.
