Two UND football players face drug charges
Two UND football players were charged Thursday with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
The charges for Andre Randolph and Demon Taylor are Class B felonies and carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
In addition, Taylor was charged with a Class A misdemeanor of possession of drug paraphernalia for manufacturing marijuana, while Randolph was charged with a Class B misdemeanor of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia for using marijuana.
The Grand Forks Narcotics Task Force conducted a search warrant at 1122 Hammerling Drive and searched the bedrooms of Taylor and Randolph, according to a police affidavit.
In Taylor's room, police found a jar containing marijuana, numerous baggies with marijuana residue and a digital scale.
In Randolph's room, police found a pill bottle with marijuana, a large mason jar with marijuana residue and a package from Las Vegas. Agents also found a digital scale with marijuana residue.
Randolph and Taylor are both currently on UND's injured list.
Randolph, a redshirt freshman defensive back from Indianapolis, suffered a season-ending knee injury in early August.
Taylor, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound offensive lineman from St. Louis, has been out of the lineup the past three weeks with an arm injury. He was a third team all-Big Sky Conference selection last season.
