STRASBURG, N.D. -- A 57-year-old Strasburg man has been identified as the person killed Friday afternoon in a traffic accident near the south-central North Dakota town.

Albert Houn was driving a pickup truck when Katherine Vetter, 17, of Linton, failed to yield to a yield sign at Seventh Avenue Southeast and 89th Street Southeast four miles west of Strasburg, the North Dakota Highway Patrol reported. Vetter’s car was struck by Houn's pickup, and Houn was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck's passenger, Adam Houn, 17, was transported to a hospital in Linton. Vetter, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated and released.

Neither person in the pickup was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
