Helping hands: CVIC Building Hope Campaign ... Helen’s Pajama Party ... Rydell Car & Bike Show

  •  CVIC Building Hope Campaign: The Community Violence Intervention Center is seeking donations for its Building Hope Campaign to create a new emergency shelter for adults and children. Area restaurants are participating in the campaign by donating 10 percent of all sales Wednesday. They include: The Blue Moose Bar & Grill, Boardwalk Bar & Grill, Bonzer’s Sandwich Pub, Brick & Barley Bar & Grill, Coffee Company, Culvers, Dakota Harvest Bakers, Eagle’s Crest Bar & Grill, Giuseppe’s, Ground Round, Joe Black’s Bar & Grill, O’Really’s Irish Pub, Pizza Ranch, Quizno’s, Red Pepper East, Red Pepper Campus Place, Rhombus Guys, The Toasted Frog, Urban Stampede and Porpoura.   •  Helen’s Pajama Party: The Grand Forks Morning Rotary Club’s fundraising party will gather pajamas for women’s shelters in the area. Bring one new pair of adult women’s pajama to the party 6 to 8 p.m.Sept. 9 at Eagle’s Crest, 5301 S. Columbia Road. Many women fleeing violence come to shelters with just the clothing on their back, and the new pajamas are meant to lift spirits. Yvonne Gomez, (701) 740-4080.
  •  Rydell Car & Bike Show: The classic vehicle show and auction will raise funds for the Altru’s Hospice. The event is noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 21 at Rydell Chevrolet Buick GMC, 2700 S. Washington St., Grand Forks. Registration cost for each vehicle is $40 before Sept. 13 and $45 after. Donations and sponsorships will also be accepted.
