Helping hands: Summer charity campaign ... Salvation Army fundraiser ... Root beer float fundraiser

  •  Summer charity campaign: Erbert and Gerbert’s Sandwich Shop is hosting a summer charity campaign through July 25 to benefit the Great Plains Food Bank. For every dollar donated, customers receive a dollar in comet cash to use at their next visit to Erbert and Gerbert’s. All of the proceeds will go to the food bank. Info: (312) 829-4350.
  •  Salvation Army fundraiser: Pizza Ranch will host a community impact fundraiser for the Salvation Army from 5 to 9 p.m. July 30 and the Grand Forks Pizza Ranch, 3750 32nd Ave. S. During this time, 20 percent of orders will go to the Salvation Army. Just be sure to mention that you want to participate. Info: (701) 775-2597.
  •  Root beer float fundraiser: The Park River (N.D.) Senior Citizen’s Center is sponsoring a root beer float fundraiser from 2 to 3:30 p.m. July 30 at Jim’s Super Valu parking lot to help defray the costs of the center, an important part of which is delivering about 9,000 meals a year in Park River.   •  Fireman’s Ball: The Fire Hall Theatre is hosting the Fireman’s Ball July 31 to help raise funds to begin repair work on the theater’s bricks. The interactive dinner theater includes a hot and cold buffet, live music, a DJ and plenty of comedy. Tickets are $50 and can be reserved at The theater is also looking for volunteers with bookkeeping experience and a handyman/carpenter for two hours a week.   •  Fundraiser: The North Valley Arts Council and the Circle of Friends Humane Society are teaming up for a fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. July 31 at Red River Angus Farm, 4150 N. Columbia Road, just north of Grand Forks. Join them for food, drinks, music, an art auction, animals, raffles, games and more. Info: (701) 772-3710.
  •  Special Olympics volunteers: Special Olympics North Dakota is looking for volunteers to help join the organizing committee of the State Soccer and Bocce Tournament held Sept. 13 to 14.
