Lanes on 2 Grand Forks routes to close

The city of Grand Forks said it will reduce the number of lanes on two key north-south arterials starting Tuesday.

The southbound side of South 42nd Street in Grand Forks will be reduced to one lane at 11th Avenue South. Construction crews will be working on the entrance to the Alerus Center complex.

The project is expected to take four weeks if the weather cooperates.

Both inner lanes on South Washington Street in Grand Forks will be closed from 36th Avenue South to 44th Avenue South. Workers will pave and widen left turn lanes.

This project is expected to take five weeks, and will require drivers to reduce speeds to 30 mph.
