New principal named for Schroeder Middle School

Angelique Gunderson, of Papillion, Neb., has been named principal of Elroy Schroeder Middle School in Grand Forks.

Gunderson, who is principal of Walnut Creek Elementary School in Papillion, is taking over the position held by Catherine Gillach, who has been named an assistant superintendent of Grand Forks Public Schools.

Gunderson has served as principal of a school with pre-kindergarten through sixth grade students for the past seven years, as well as an adjunct instructor in educational administration at Concordia University in Nebraska.

She held a central office position as a high potential coordinator with the Minnetonka (Minn.) Public School District.

Gunderson earned a master's degree in curriculum and instruction, a bachelor's degree in elementary education, and an education administration endorsement from the University of Nebraska, Kearney.

Gunderson's assignment was approved by the Grand Forks School Board on Monday.
