Dave Chakraborty to leave administration position at UND
A UND administrator has left the college for another job.
Dave Chakraborty, the associate vice president of facilities management, is leaving for another job at Wellesley College in Boston, according to a campuswide email obtained by the Herald.
Chakraborty said in the email he feels blessed by how welcomed he was in the community and thanked interim President Ed Schafer and Vice President for Finance and Operations Alice Brekke for their support.
"The facilities department has some great people who are skilled and committed to UND," he said. "They manage to take care of UND's facilities the best they can with very meager resources, and I know they will do miracles with proper level of funding."
Chakraborty was hired in the fall of 2014, coming from California State University-Channel Islands in Camarillo, Calif., where he worked as associate vice president for facilities services and executive facilities officer, according to Herald archives.
During his time at UND, Chakraborty oversaw the creation of a facilities master plan. His last day at UND is June 29 and interim leadership for the department will be found before that day, according to the email.
