Foot chase ends with drug arrest in Grand Forks

A Grand Forks man was arrested Wednesday afternoon for allegedly possessing an unspecified amount of heroin and leading police on a foot chase.

Two others were also arrest in the incident.

Joshua Louis Bruce, 26, of Grand Forks, fled after officers arrived at the Home of Economy at 1508 N. Washington St. at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to a report of suspicious people. Bruce was ultimately captured in the 1600 block of North Fifth Street, according to a press release from the Grand Forks Police Department.

He was taken to Altru Hospital by ambulance and then to the Grand Forks Correctional Center. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing heroin with the intent to deliver, possessing a controlled substance, fleeing from police and resisting arrest.

Grand Forks resident Ricky Allen Karel, 28, was arrested on an outstanding warrant, and Adriana Arroyo, 25, of East Grand Forks, was arrested for allegedly hindering law enforcement.
