Robbery reported at apartment; suspect still at large

Grand Forks Police are searching for a man who robbed someone early Friday morning at an apartment complex.

Officers responded at 5:15 a.m. to 750 N. 43rd St., where a white suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash from an apartment resident, according to a news release. The male victim said he was confronted in a stairwell of the apartment complex.

The suspect indicated he had a weapon in his coat pocket and told the victim, “I just want your money,” according to the release. The victim gave some cash to the suspect, who then left.

No one was injured, police said.

The suspect is described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall. His heavy clothing hid his size and height, and he was wearing a black face mask and hoodie, according to the release. The suspect didn’t sound like he had any accents or slurs, police said.
