Anderson public health worker of the year
Allen Anderson of the Grand Forks Public Health Department has been named the Public Health Worker of the Year at the 2017 Dakota Conference on Rural and Public Health annual banquet. The award recognizes North Dakota Public Health Association members who have made a significant contribution to the field of public health in the past year.
Dr. Danel recognized
The American Institute of Dentistry has recognized Jeremiah Danel as Two Years 10 Best Orthodontist for Client Satisfaction. Recipients of the honor are selected through client and peer nominations, research and the American Institute of Dentistry's independent evaluation.
WDAY wins Edward R. Murrow award
WDAY-TV News has received the National 2017 Edward R. Murrow Award. This is the second year in a row WDAY has received the award and is the third time in the company's history that it has received the award.
First Care Health Center hires
Mariah Lardy has been hired to the marketing department at First Care Health Center. Lardy is a graduate of Concordia College with a degree in business marketing and public relations.
Altru appoints medical directors
Dr. Jeremy Gardner has been appointed as medical director of musculoskeletal services at Altru Health System. Gardner specializes in orthopedic surgery and holds a medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine.
Dr. Steve Weiser has been appointed as medical director of inpatient services at Altru Health System. Weiser holds a medical degree from the University of Manitoba and is board certified in family medicine. He has worked in Altru's Emergency Department for almost 18 years.
Altru Health System has been awarded the Mission: Lifeline Silver Receiving Quality Achievement Award by the American Heart Association for implementing quality improvement measures for patients who suffer severe heart attacks. Altru also received the Mission: Lifeline's Silver-Plus award, which recognizes hospitals that reach an achievement score of 75 percent or above for treating heart attack patients from other areas within 120 minutes.
American Crystal Sugar promotes
Brandon Kostrzewski and Ryan Hermanson were recently promoted to the position of shift administrator at American Crystal Sugar Company in the East Grand Forks factory. Kostrzewski started at American Crystal in 2014 and Hermanson in 2012.
Yehudah "Hudi" Kobribksy has been promoted to the role of process analyst. Kobrinsky holds a bachelor of science in chemistry-biology and has been with American Crystal since 2015.
Steven Gillespie has been promoted to the position of technical training lead at the Drayton, N.D., factory. Gillespie has been with the company for 14 years, most recently as shift supervisor.
