Grand Forks County man faces terrorizing charge after pointing loaded handgun at family member's head

A Grand Forks County man is out on bail after pointing a loaded handgun at the back of a family member's head Thursday night.

Christopher Robert Moore, 38, was charged with one count of terrorizing, a Class C felony in Grand Forks County Court on Monday.

The victim was sitting in a chair watching television Thursday night in a home in the 1700 block of 18th Street Northeast in Brenna Township, west of Grand Forks.

Just before 8:30 p.m., the victim heard a bullet being loaded into the chamber of handgun, according to court documents. The victim turned around to find Moore with his finger on the trigger of the weapon.

Moore was talked down by the victim, law enforcement officials said, and was eventually arrested at the home.

He was released Friday on $2,000 bail, according to an official at the Grand Forks County jail. In court Monday, Moore was given a no-contact order preventing him from coming within 50 feet of the victim's home or workplace.

He is next scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 18.
