Circle of Friends, NoVAC join forces for fundraiser

Two very different organizations are teaming for a joint fundraiser.

Circle of Friends Humane Society and the North Valley Arts Council are hosting an event from 5 to 7 p.m. at Red River Angus Farm, 415 Columbia Road.

All proceeds raised at the fundraiser will be split between Circle of Friends and NoVAC.

There will be artwork donated from local artists on sale as part of the fundraiser.

The event also includes a raffle and a silent auction on date night packages that include a stay in a hotel, dinner, drinks and tickets to an event.

Kathryn Fink of NoVAC said she has been amazed at the high quality of art that has come in for the event.

“For all of the events like this we’ve hosted, this is the most high end art I’ve seen come in,” Fink said.

Gary Shields of Circle of Friends said the humane society will use the funds for general day to day activities. Fink said most of the money raised for NoVAC will go toward the Arts Creation Center.

The two organizations hope this joint effort will bring awareness to the community about what each does, Shields said.

The fundraiser will also include short informational speeches about the two organizations and allow people the chance to adopt dogs.

“NoVAC is a great partner to work with, and I think an event like this shows that anybody can work together,” Shields said.

Fink said she hopes to continue joint fundraisers like this one in the future.

“I’m just excited for people to have fun and be in a different atmosphere with the art.”
