Flood fighters rushed to shore up an emergency levee in Grafton Tuesday after the National Weather Service issued a flood warning and raised the probable Park River crest to 16.5 feet, near the record of 16.52 feet, which has stood since 1950.

N.D. workers return home after Oklahoma tornado

Pilot Liz Lillard was in Williston on Monday as she watched a live feed of a massive tornado pass over her children’s day care in Moore, Okla. Lillard’s son and daughter, ages 2½ and 7 months, were safe in a storm shelter at their day care, but phone lines were down, so Lillard didn’t know for two hours.

ANN BAILEY: Rhubarb: A rite of spring

My mom made sauces, cakes, pies and desserts from our rhubarb, and I enjoyed them all. When my husband, Brian, moved from Grand Forks to the farm where we live, near Larimore, N.D., my mom and dad planted rhubarb in our garden.
