Grand Forks County Commission to discuss zoning, FEMA flood buyouts 
The Grand Forks County Commission could resolve two sticky issues when it meets Tuesday. The County Board likely will vote on a proposed zoning and subdivision agreement between the county and the city of Grand Forks that ends the city’s unilateral extraterritorial control over zoning more than two miles outside city limits. The board also will hear a report that the city of Manvel, N.D., is willing to sponsor Federal Emergency Management Agency flood buyout or other mitigation applications for residents living north of Grand Forks with significant flood damage.

A meeting scheduled Thursday to vote on a proposed Rye Township zoning ordinance has been postponed. The meeting will be rescheduled, probably in the latter part of March, according to Terry Stromsodt, township board chairman. “We’re still moving forward,” he said.
