A state lawmaker called members of the State Board of Higher Education and University System office before a House committee Friday to ask questions about what he believes has been a behind-the-scenes effort to discredit Chancellor Hamid Shirvani.
The fifth annual Fiesta in the Spirit of Cinco de Mayo, a celebration which this year will pay tribute to the artists of Northwest Minnesota, will begin at 3:30 p.m. April 12 at the University of Minnesota, Crookston.
Chancellor Hamid Shirvani already has overseen sweeping changes to higher education after only six months on the job.
But he said many of the changes are simply a matter of fully empowering the North Dakota University System by following through on suggestions dating back to the 1980s that hadn’t become a reality – until now.
