HIGHER EDUCATION: N.D. university system tops enrollment record 
North Dakota’s university system is reporting a record fall enrollment of more than 45,000 students. A fall semester head count at the 11 state colleges and universities totaled 45,817 students, an increase of 2,375, or 5.5 percent. College officials said none of the campuses reported a decline.

The Highway Patrol has identified the two women killed in a head-on crash west of New Town. Authorities said Trivian Rush, 25, Minot and Vikilynn Standish, 27, Bismarck, died when the car they were in crossed the center line and struck a pickup truck just before 6 a.m. Sunday on state Highway 23. The patrol said Rush was driving the car.

Board cuts University System execs' salaries 
North Dakota’s Board of Higher Education decided Friday to give four top university system executives smaller pay raises next year.
The board’s president, Richie Smith, and the university system’s chancellor, William Goetz, wanted 4 percent pay rises for three vice chancellors and the top attorney in the university system’s central office.

N.D. LEGISLATURE: University system wants restored 'equity' money 
A top North Dakota university system administrator is asking the Legislature to restore $10 million in so-called equity money to the system’s budget. The money, which is divided among the system’s 11 colleges, “really is the only discretionary money in the budget at the campus level,” said Laura Glatt, the system’s vice chancellor for administrative affairs.
