UND scored two goals in the final 1 minute, 5 seconds of the second period and withstood a barrage of shots in the third to beat St. Lawrence 3-2 in front of 10,532 on Saturday night and earn a series split.
Instead of it coming on the road from the No. 1 team in the country, UND was given its measuring stick at home by No. 9 St. Cloud State this weekend. The results were humbling and a little discouraging.
For the first time in the career of anybody on UND’s roster – the team was swept in Ralph Engelstad Arena. St. Cloud State achieved that rare feat by beating UND 3-1 in front of 11,882 in the series finale, dropping UND to 2-3-1 overall and 1-3 in National Collegiate Hockey Conference play.
