The timing of the student fees audit reeks of political opportunism. It seems like it is open season in some political circles on higher education in North Dakota, constantly attacking our colleges and universities at a time when they are doing a tremendous job of educating our students and preparing them for careers.
Many of the issues raised in a scathing audit of how NDSU and the UND have spent student fees are simply “common practice” in higher education and not a sign of problems, North Dakota University System Chancellor Hamid Shirvani told a group of legislators Thursday.
