The first of four new camper cabins arrived Tuesday at Lake Bemidji State Park. The one-room electrical cabins provide basic shelter for up to six people. They will be placed together north of the campground near the trail access for the bog walk.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says the reservation system has been upgraded since it crashed March 1, but because of anticipated high demand, reservations will only be accepted for specific dates during the initial 8-day rollout.
North Dakota state parks officially open May 18, but reservations can be made 24 hours a day with the exception of the first day of the 95-day window. On Tuesday, reservations can be made starting at 7 a.m.
With the work of the Civilian Conservation Corps, the land north of Arvilla, N.D., that once was pasture was turned into a beauty spot in 1936.
Called Turtle River State Park today, it first was called Grand Forks State Park.
