This is normally the week in my monthly rotation where I introduce you to a Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals member, but I’m feeling rather reflective in the spirit of Thanksgiving so I’ve decided to mix things up a bit.
It all started in 2004, the year I started college. You see, when you attend the University of Mary in Bismarck, it’s common to be able to name every single person you will see walking across campus at any given point of time. (“It’s Tuesday at 10:35am? I can’t wait to see Laura today!”)
I have to tell you a secret: I am not an athlete. Like, not even close. For the sake of my dignity, I have learned the importance of laughing at myself when I trip on the sidewalk cracks. You know, the whole “laugh WITH me” theory? I’ve mastered it.
As I get to know young professionals better, finding common interests naturally follows. In this case, I found a loyal walking partner (and Cherry Berry lover). The more we walk and talk, the more things we find in common.
The day I graduated college, I vowed never to study or write another paper in my life. HA. Little did I realize that every day would turn into a some type of learning experience. Not only that, but the experiences are vital to the success of whatever you are doing.
