A Minnesota man was arrested on a firearms charge Friday after federal authorities found Molotov cocktails, suspected pipe bombs and guns during a search of his Montevideo home, according to a criminal complaint and affidavit.

The University of Minnesota has launched its third internal investigation in two years into allegations of research misconduct by a scientist working with stem cells. The latest allegation, in the current edition of the British magazine New Scientist, involves possible manipulation and duplication of technical images of stem cell experiments by Dr. Jizhen Lin, a full-time researcher whose focus is the ear and hearing loss.
The Legislature hired Propylon Inc., an Irish firm that's developed management software for legislatures in Pennsylvania, Oregon and Kansas, to replace a system North Dakota’s Legislature has relied on for over30 years. Its work must be done by Nov. 30, 2010. PTC Corp., Needham, Mass., was given the job three years ago, but was unable to complete the work in time for the 2009 Legislature. The company opted out of its contract last fall, blaming difficulties on a “contentious work environment.”
Divers and dogs searching the Park River still haven’t come up with a sign of Jared Udby, the Adams, N.D., man missing since his pickup truck was swept off a road April 12 by floodwaters. Two passengers survived. They said once the truck was spinning in the swirling, swollen river, Udby, 27, kicked out the driver’s side window and crawled out, and they followed.
