Snowfall throughout North Dakota on Friday and early Saturday, combined with existing flooding covering a number of roads in the state has made for treacherous travel in many parts of the state Saturday.
The cities of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks closed the Point Bridge on Minnesota Avenue Friday morning because of rising floodwaters. Also, East Grand Forks bus routes have been modified to adjust for the bridge closing.
Minnesota Highway 317 is closed due to water on the roadway, according to a release from the state Department of Transportation. Motorists traveling on North Dakota Highway 17, ten miles east of Grafton, will be affected because only local traffic will be permitted on the roadway from I-29 to the Red River.
