The Red River Basin Commission will tour the Devils Lake Basin Thursday.The RRBC, a non-profit organization that works across the political boundaries of Manitoba, North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota on land and water issues, also will meet at Stump Lake Park following the tour.

Study finds water storage could reduce peak flows of Red River 
A goal of reducing peak flows on the Red River enough to drop flood stages 2 feet in Fargo during a 1997-magnitude flood appears realistic. An analysis for the Red River Basin Commission identified water storage sites throughout the valley from Wahpeton, N.D., to Emerson, Man., to reduce river flows by 20 percent, with one exception.
