A Michigan man says the price of movie theater popcorn is ridiculously high. Same goes for the sodas and candies sold by movie concessionaires. So Joshua Thompson is taking the issue to a higher authority: He’s filed a class-action lawsuit to end what he says is price gouging.
While Sen. Conrad’s plan will place stricter rules insurance companies, I suggest that such measures are just as necessary for the medical industry as a whole. Many of the same hospitals that claim they would go broke with a public option are lavishly furnished and have grossly overpaid board members and executives who never touch patients.
