Some southeast N.D. residents concerned about proposed power line 
The 210-mile CapX2020 line will run from a substation near Casselton, N.D., south and east, passing near Hickson on its way to Minnesota. The North Dakota Public Service Commission already has found that the project with 33 miles of line in the state is justified but has yet to approve the line's route. No deadline has been set for a decision.

Proposed N.D. power line would carry wind energy to Minnesota 
A proposed power line in western North Dakota will help export some of the region's wind energy to Minnesota. Allete Inc. wants to construct the line along the border between Oliver and Morton counties. It will stretch for about 11 miles and cost $10 million to build.

Power line projects in Minnesota, 11 other states getting Obama push 
The projects are intended to serve as pilot demonstrations of streamlined federal permitting and improved cooperation among federal, state and tribal governments. The projects are expected to create thousands of jobs, help avoid blackouts, restore power more quickly when outages occur and reduce the need for new power plants.
