Deborah Hanson once spent 2½ days watching a snowy owl west of Grand Forks and waiting for the perfect photo opportunity. She knew what she wanted — to capture the grace and beauty of the owl landing atop a utility pole — and when the bird finally cooperated, Hanson was there with camera in hand.
