Wheat Growers reached the settlement with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the December 2009 death of 52-year-old Steven Lee of McLaughlin, S.D., who was suffocated by sunflower seeds in a grain silo.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating a man found dead early this morning that was reported by Key Energy Services. Few details were available because the OSHA investigators remained on site, said Eric Brooks, assistant director for the Bismarck Area OSHA Office. Key Energy Services reported that a man was found dead about 4:30 this morning.
Casimiro Medina had been working on water and sewer piping for a concrete construction contractor when the collapse happened in northwest Dickinson in December. Medina, 39, jumped into the trench to attempt to save another man, and was buried in a second trench collapse.
