A world of possibilities not to mention a struggle to find common ground lies ahead for the Grand Forks arts community now that the North Valley Arts Council has a $75,000 grant to design a collaborative arts center in the city’s downtown.
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2012 Annual Arts Awards, presented by the North Valley Arts Council to honor artists, arts organizations, businesses and people who have shown extraordinary commitment to the regional arts community.
Hometown girl Jessica Pribula has always loved art. As a teenager growing up in East Grand Forks, she dreamed of being a fashion designer. Today, you can see that dream re-surfacing in her art show at Grand Forks City Hall.

Artists and art supporters are reminded nominations for the 2011 Annual Art Awards are due Aug. 1, the North Valley Arts Council said Thursday.
Nominations are being accepted in four categories: Artist of the Year, Individual Support of the Arts, Corporate Support of the Arts and Miscellaneous said the council.
The North Valley Arts Council will hold a Brown Bag Lunch Artist Workshop from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at its office on the second floor of 124 N. Third St. (above The Toasted Frog) in Grand Forks. The topic will be “Free Online Marketing: From Culturepulse.org to Going Viral.”
