The North Dakota State Fair donated nearly eight tons of food to the Great Plains Food Bank, through two efforts. A canned food drive during the fair last month brought in 2,022 pounds of food — enough to feed a family of four for more than five months.
The fair scheduled the start of ticket sales for 8 a.m. Wednesday. Tickets include the grandstand show pass, rock concert tickets, the mega-ride carnival pass, gate admission, camping passes and others.
Country star Tim McGraw is set to kick off this summer's North Dakota State Fair in Minot. Other headliners for the July 19-27 event are country performers Scotty McCreery, Sawyer Brown, Brantley Gilbert and Toby Keith.
The North Dakota State Fair is on pace to break the attendance record set in 2010. Almost 120,000 people attended in the first three days. That's more than the 2010 pace, a year when a record 308,641 people went through the gates.
North Dakota products are being featured at the North Dakota State Fair in Minot. Monday is Pride of Dakota Day at the fair. Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says more than 50 vendors will be displaying, sampling and selling their products.
Singer Uncle Kracker has been added to the entertainment lineup for this year's North Dakota State Fair. The fair says the Detroit-based singer-songwriter will be a special guest for the Kid Rock concert at the fair grandstand on Friday, July 20.
