The director of the North Dakota Department of Transportation is retiring at the end of the month. Francis Ziegler has worked for the department for 42 years. He was appointed director of the agency in 2006.
Does North Dakota have any requirement when you need to change license plates after moving here from another state? I see people that are long-term employees who have purchased homes in our area, but continue to have out-of-state plates. Since they own a home and work here full time, shouldn’t their vehicle be licensed here?

UPDATED 7 p.m. At about 4:15 p.m. today, the North Dakota Department of Transportation expanded a travel alert to the whole state, which previously had been issued for north central and western North Dakota; it is in effect through Monday morning.
