ST. PAUL — The state of Minnesota says its agencies have stopped using a Texas company to verify the identities of new employees. Minnesota Public Radio reported that state officials are concerned that some 500 employees’ names, birth dates and Social Security numbers may have been accessible on the company’s Web site.

At the turn of the 20th century, this elevator served as a bustling commercial hub. Preston residents hope to once again make this grain elevator a community gathering spot.
