Work continues on Center-to-Grand Forks power line
Minnkota Power Cooperative’s transmission line will deliver electricity from Milton R. Young 2, a coal-fired plant near Center, N.D., to northeast North Dakota. Construction began in May, and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013 though delays could push completion into early 2014.

Renewable energy credits from power generated from wind farms near Langdon and north of Valley City will offset 15,000 megawatt hours of electricity associated with the game on Feb. 5. Green Mountain Energy Co. in Austin, Texas, provided the credits, which were acquired from Minnkota Power Cooperative, based in Grand Forks.
