Some landowners angry that mining exploration includes their property The Department of Natural Resources will open bids Thursday for mineral leases that allow companies to prospect for copper, nickel, gold and other metals across northern Minnesota.
A Wisconsin man is accused of stabbing a Minnesota man on Christmas because he wanted “to see what it felt like.” Nicholas Leigh Tretter, 29, River Falls, Wis. was charged this week with second-degree assault. The Star Tribune said he was jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail.
