UND said Friday that it will present honorary degrees to U.S. Sen. Kent Conrad; Mary Wakefield, a top federal health care official who once worked at the university; and businessman B. John Barry. The announcement was made after the State Board of Higher Education approved of the degrees on Thursday. The three will receive their Doctor of Letters degrees as early as May 12, when UND holds its spring general commencement at Grand Forks’ Alerus Center.
